Urban HQ has appointed an award-winning agency to complete the interior architecture and design of its new flexible workspace located in Belfast’s Eagle Star House.
The collaboration between Dublin-based Kingston Lafferty Design and Urban HQ will create a truly design-led workspace in the heart of Belfast.
Urban HQ will open its doors in summer 2020 with more than 500 desks available over eight floors. It will also be the first and only flexible workspace in Northern Ireland to achieve the coveted Wired Certification Platinum from WiredScore.
Roisin Lafferty, Creative Director at Kingston Lafferty Design said:
“When creating designs for Urban HQ we chose to deliberately frame the view and focus member attention on the journey and experience through the space.
“A selection of materials has been chosen to layer up the various spaces, distinguish between levels and overall create the atmosphere and visual identity of the building.
“So many office spaces appear flat, lifeless and soulless. Drawing inspiration from a mixture of impressive spaces, we wanted to avoid trends, avoid what everyone is currently re-creating and provide a world class finish that is both aspirational to those who spend time there, whilst being warm, homely, rich and luxurious without glitz, instead valuing quality materials, tactility and timelessness.”
Urban HQ will provide members with not just a desk, but the space, facilities, events and a network to develop and grow their business. Members can avail of a number of spaces including light-filled meeting rooms, offices, focus rooms, phone booths, central lounge areas, event space, sofas, rooftop terrace and dedicated wellness room.
Jamie McCoubrey, Managing Director of Urban HQ commented:
“Creating a stylish, comfortable environment for our members was a key priority when establishing Urban HQ. Kingston Lafferty Design is a multi-award-winning company with vast knowledge and expertise which we knew would be the perfect fit for our business.
“We wanted to design and create a beautiful, sophisticated space with a timeless appeal that complemented the building’s architecture as well as the Urban HQ brand.
“We worked closely with Kingston Lafferty to design a space centred around our members and a range of different tones, finishes and textures have been incorporated to create a vibrant, harmonious, productive space for our members.
“The designs are currently being brought to life within Eagle Star House ahead of our official opening in summer next year.”
Urban HQ is offering no deposits and up to 3 months’ rent free for all new deals agreed prior to opening. A show office will be available early next year for interested parties to get a first look at the building’s best in class design and specification.
