The Northern Ireland Best Kept Awards has issued a final call to health and social care facilities throughout Antrim to enter this year’s competition.
Organised by the Northern Ireland Amenity Council and sponsored by George Best Belfast City Airport, the initiative seeks to identify and celebrate Northern Ireland’s best looked-after towns, villages, schools, healthcare facilities and housing areas. First established in 1957, the competition has grown over the years and now includes 90 awards across six categories.
Suffolk Day Care Centre was named the overall Northern Ireland winner last year, with the judges recognizing that staff demonstrated dedication and pride in their workplace by improving the surroundings.
All five of Northern Ireland’s Health Trust areas are encouraged to enter the awards.
Joe Mahon, Patron of the Northern Ireland Amenity Council, said:
“Everyone will appreciate how important it is for residents of health and social care facilities to feel comfortable and enjoy their surroundings. These awards aim to recognise the hard work that is made by staff to improve their facilities.
“Working towards the award is an excellent way to create civic pride among the whole community, and we are delighted to have the support of Belfast City Airport as we encourage entries from across Northern Ireland.”
Michelle Hatfield, Director of Corporate Services at Belfast City Airport, said:
“Making a positive contribution to our local community is central to the ethos of Belfast City Airport and we are a natural partner for the Best Kept Awards.
“There are many health and social care facilities across Northern Ireland providing a fantastic service to residents and their families – and these awards are an ideal platform through which to recognise that hard work.”
Entries to the Best Kept Health and Social Care Facility category must be submitted by Friday 18th May.
