The Institute of Directors Northern Ireland (IoD NI) is inviting businesses to Meet the Experts at a free lunch later this month, as it seeks to help businesses prepare for the UK’s departure from the EU.

The event at the Hilton Hotel, Belfast on Friday 25th October from 12 noon forms part of the IoD’s Brexit Ready NI initiative, a major free advice service for members and non-members.

Those in attendance at event compered by BBC economics editor John Campbell, will hear from the business body’s Head of EU and Trade Policy Allie Renison and Dr Katy Hayward, Reader in Sociology at Queen’s University, Belfast.

A panel discussion will also include representatives from business advisory group KPMG.

Gordon Milligan, Chairman, IoD NI commented:

“The closer we get to the date at which the UK is due to leave the European Union, the more important it is that we avail of the advice of the experts.

“We are privileged in Allie Renison and Dr Katy Hayward to have two of the most highly regarded and sought-after speakers on the Brexit debate speaking at the Meet the Experts lunch while John Campbell’s keen eye for the detail of the negotiations will provide significant insight.

“We want as many businesses as possible from across all sectors and every part of Northern Ireland to benefit from these insights and to that end, the lunch is totally free to attend and open to members and non-members of the IoD.”

Brexit Ready NI is running throughout October and features webinars and workshops across Northern Ireland, while companies can also avail of bespoke expert guidance geared directly to their business.

Delivered in partnership with KPMG, Brexit Ready NI offers guidance on a range of matters from how to prepare for a ‘no deal’, employment and immigration issues, to getting ready for any changes in the tax and customs landscape.
