Donnelly Group, Northern Ireland’s largest family-owned motor retailer, is seeking applications from local community groups to receive funding for projects that promote environmental awareness, physical and mental wellbeing, education or skills development.

The organisation will provide financial support for chosen projects through the Donnelly Group Foundation launched in July 2019 to formalise the process for charitable donations, community support and staff volunteering opportunities.

Applications for the first round of funding are now open for projects and groups in the vicinity of the Group’s nine locations across Northern Ireland.

Donnelly Group Foundation spokesperson, Roisin Donnelly, said:

“The Donnelly Group has supported the local community for more than 70 years and the Donnelly Group Foundation was established to build on that and really extend the reach of our support.

“For every retail vehicle sold, Donnelly Group will make a donation to the Donnelly Group Foundation, and these funds will then be used to financially support charities, causes and organisations right across Northern Ireland.

“This initiative is a really exciting development in our commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility allowing us to support a larger volume of projects across the province and it is something that all of our employees, across all of our nine locations can get involved in.”

With three rounds of funding available within each twelve month period, applications will be accepted for this first round of funding until 30th September 2019.

Roisin concluded:

“All applications received will be considered by the Donnelly Group Foundation committee with preference given to projects that are strongly rooted within the local community, and can demonstrate that the work they propose to do will make a measurable and sustainable difference in the community.”

In addition to the financial support within the community, as part of the Donnelly Group Foundation the Group has also announced a charity partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support and an additional day of leave called the ‘Donnelly Group Foundation Day,’ for all 800 employees to partake in volunteering opportunities.
